Acupressure
A form of traditional Chinese Medicine,
acupressure may be thought of as
“Acupuncture without needles”.
Specifically, acupressure can:
Relieve muscle spasms
Enhance the dog’s immune system
Release endorphins necessary to reduce pain
Reduce natural cortisone to reduce swelling
Enhance mental clarity required for focus in
training and performance.
In acupressure, the body is viewed as an
interconnected energy system in which
the body energy known as “chi” flows along
pathways called meridians. Stimulation or
sedation of points lying along these meridians
moves the energy, balancing the chi and
relieving or preventing blockages & excesses
that can cause discomfort, pain & inflammation.
Growing puppies & young dogs…
Canine bodywork can alleviate discomfort often caused by rapid growth of bones and muscles. It can also calm and focus the excitable, active adolescent. Bodywork for Dogs reduces the risk of injury which frequently accompanies rowdy play, jumping, rolling, wrestling and generally being an adventurous, energetic young dog.
Tellington Touch
The circular “ T Touch” elicits changes in brain wave patterns . . . different from those elicited by petting or stroking, “T Touch is actually a variety of touches that help with dog behavior or health problems. Brain wave analysis shows that the Tellington Touch activates the Beta waves in the animal’s brain;
The Beta waves are the ones that stimulate thinking. In a nutshell, the dog or other animal may create new pathways in its nervous system so that learning can occur in new ways.
Thunder, storms and associative loud noise fears
Animals that start out frantic and hyper become relaxed while being treated.
Improves an animals ability to learn
For nervous dogs who are fearful of loud noises, people or other dogs.
Used to help aggressive dogs relax and learn new alternatives to aggression.
Older Dogs
Dogs in their golden years benefit from bodywork in many ways. Reducing pain & stiffness common in aging dogs, makes it easier for them to get to their feet, stabilize themselves, and move about comfortably. Promoting circulation brings nutrients and warmth to extremities– paws, ears and tail. ~ Good for all dogs who have decreased activity levels, keeping muscles toned and slowing atrophy and musculoskeletal degeneration.
Reiki
Reiki is a therapeutic system of directing healing energy into the human or animal
body, to comfort, relax and relieve pain.
Reiki helps in healing the emotional, mental,
physical and spiritual aspects of the body.
Reiki’s goal is to restore, replenish and maintain the natural harmony and balance needed for optimal health and well being.
BODYWORK IS beneficial to Every Body.
